Amber Enterprises is India's leading room-air-conditioner EMS maker that is rapidly diversifying into electronics manufacturing, railways sub-systems and defence. The Q2 print will speak to whether the ~40% FY27 Electronics growth guide stays intact amid record copper and rising CCL costs, and how the IL JIN Greater Noida fire loss and the subsidiary's proposed IPO flow through the numbers.

Per the board-meeting intimation, the Board is scheduled to meet on 12 Nov 2026 to approve the Q2/H1 FY27 (quarter/half-year ended 30 Sep 2026) standalone and consolidated results. The trading window has been closed from 1 Oct 2026 until 48 hours after the results.
The quarter's central test is whether management's revised margin view — 'margins are normalized at where we are', conditional on no further currency and commodity disruption — survives a window in which copper printed all-time highs ($14,617/t on 8 Sep, +17% YTD), CCL kept rising on AI/data-center demand, and the rupee slid to ~95.9 by mid-September.
Electronics remains the strongest leg: Q1 grew +29% against the reaffirmed ~40% FY27 guide, with all three verticals — PCBA, bare PCB and power electronics (growing 35-40%) — contributing, though the division's 8.27% filed-basis margin ran below the double-digit target on the CCL pass-through lag. Consumer Durables decelerated to +8% in Q1 against a 13-15% FY27 guide, with no heatwave in the July-September window and RAI retail growth of 5-11% across regions offering support but no weather kicker; the soft Q2 FY26 base of Rs. 1,647 Cr aids the comparison.
Railways & Defence carries Rs. 2,750+ crore of order-book visibility amid heavy rolling-stock tendering through the window, but Q1's EBITDA decline of 26% YoY on fixed-price contracts and the 35% Haryana minimum-wage hike makes the 15-16% margin guide the leg to test. The call should also cover the IL JIN Greater Noida fire loss of Rs. 38.28 crore plus GST (Rs. 10 crore insurer on-account payment received), the Oppo revenue-recognition outcome that was due before mid-September, and the DRHP filed on 7 Nov 2026 for a proposed IL JIN IPO.
Guidance scorecard for FY27: Management reaffirmed most FY27 targets on the Q1 call; Q2 is the checkpoint on each leg.
Consolidated margin view after record copper and a weaker rupee: The margin narrative moved from '50-100 bps pressure' to 'normalized' at the Q1 call — both conditions were disturbed during the July-September window.
IL JIN fire loss, insurance recovery and IPO progress: The 4 Aug 2026 fire at IL JIN's Greater Noida plant remains an open item into this print.
Oppo revenue recognition and open follow-ups: Several items promised on the Q1 call are due for closure.
Capex and project execution updates: FY27 capex is guided at Rs. 1,800-2,000 Cr with cash outflow of Rs. 1,100-1,200 Cr.
At the Q1 FY27 call, management moved from an earlier view of a 50-100 bps margin decline to saying 'margins are normalized at where we are'. The revision was conditional on no further disruption in currency and commodity prices.
Management said 'All 3 divisions within the Electronics division is growing' — PCBA on new customers and applications, bare PCB on import substitution, and industrial power electronics. On whether the 40%-plus number still holds, the response was 'we hope that we will be able to deliver that number'.
Formalization was due before mid-September 2026, with the revenue-recognition method (sales-purchase vs job-work basis) and entity-level placement being finalized alongside ERP integration. Management promised an update on the next call.
Management guided PCB margins to recover to 15-16% starting Q3 FY27, contingent on no further CCL price increases. CCL continued rising through the quarter on AI and data-center demand, so the condition attached to that recovery was not met.
