Bayer CropScience makes crop protection products and hybrid corn seeds, and heads into its Q2 FY 2026-27 print against a season rainfall deficit of about 15% and falling rice and maize acreage. The key things the results will speak to are whether revenue normalises off the rain-depressed Q2 FY26 base and the quality of margins after Q1's PAT growth was flattered by a Rs. 63.90 Cr one-off divestment gain.

As per the board meeting intimation dated October 15, 2026, the Board of Directors meets on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to approve unaudited results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27) and to consider an interim dividend for FY 2026-27 with record date.
The Q2 FY27 print will be read against a rain-depressed base — Q2 FY26 revenue of Rs. 15,534 Mn fell 11% YoY on relentless rain that hit liquidation, sales and collections — while this season's problem inverted to a ~15% monsoon deficiency, drought in Maharashtra and Karnataka, and rice acreage down 3.65% YoY to 430.93 lakh ha. Margin quality is the other central question: Q1 FY27 PAT growth of 15.39% included a Rs. 63.90 Cr marketing-rights divestment gain (about 15.89% of PBT), with normalized EBITDA margin down 165 bps YoY at 16.55%, and the company has not published an adjusted PAT or margin bridge. On the cost side, the feared glyphosate glut did not materialise — China 95% TC prices rose from about 25,400 yuan/t on 11 Sep to 29,000 yuan/t by 16 Oct, up 10.9% in September — supportive for the 'Others' segment, though Chinese generic competition kept technicals pricing 'the key industry challenge'. Management's 3-5 year framework of high single-digit to low double-digit revenue growth and ~100bps margin improvement from the '24-25 base — which the CFO called 'more as a target, more as an aspiration' — is intact, but H1 FY27 started behind it with Q1 revenue down 4.16% YoY. The call will also cover the Rs. 90/share half-year interim dividend pattern, the Xivana Smart launch slated for 'early next year', and grower-payment and Bayer AG transfer-price stabilization promised for FY27.

CEO Simon Wiebusch said the high single-digit to low double-digit growth guidance over the next 3-5 years is a combination of both, replying 'That's a combo'. For FY26, management had separately guided mid-single-digit growth instead of the longer-term framework.
PAT rose 15.39% YoY to Rs. 321.60 Cr on revenue of Rs. 1,835.00 Cr (down 4.16% YoY), boosted by a Rs. 63.90 Cr one-off gain from divesting marketing rights for formulated products. Excluding the gain, PBT of Rs. 338.20 Cr was up only ~0.90% YoY.
Responding to a comparison with pre-merger Monsanto corn margins of 'anywhere close to 28 to 30 odd percent', CFO Vinit Jindal pointed to the rising incremental cost of production under Indian weather constraints. He concluded that 'the margins don't sustain beyond a certain level'.
Management explained that prior-year margins were flattered by a global glyphosate shortage, and its guidance baseline hedges against glyphosate price swings rather than assuming spike-driven upside. A glyphosate glut would compress the 'Others' segment.
Yes — the company reported net cash with zero borrowings, with Rs. 1,414.6 Cr net cash at FY26 year-end (March 31, 2026). FY26 cash from operations was Rs. 1,078.50 Cr, though H1 is seasonally a working-capital drawdown quarter.
