Bharti Airtel, India's largest telecom operator with mobile, broadband, enterprise and Africa operations, reports its September quarter against a backdrop of a mid-quarter entry-plan price increase and rising energy and equipment costs. The print will speak to whether the ARPU ladder moves past Rs. 264 and how much the discontinuation of the Rs. 299 plan lifted revenue, alongside the margin impact of the crude spike and memory-driven cost inflation.

Per the board-meeting intimation, the Board is scheduled to meet on November 5, 2026 to approve the audited Q2/H1 FY27 results. The trading window remained closed from October 1 to November 7, 2026.
The Q2/H1 FY27 earnings call/webinar is scheduled for November 6, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:20 pm IST, via Zoom webinar. The call covers both Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom.
The September quarter is the first full test of the mid-quarter pricing action, with Airtel discontinuing its Rs. 299 entry-level 28-day plan on August 12, 2026 and moving the entry price to Rs. 349, a step the source notes brokerages estimated would deliver a gross ARPU benefit of roughly Rs. 4-12.
The ARPU ladder reached Rs. 264 in Q1 FY27 (extra-day aided) against a Rs. 256 comp in Q2 FY26, while TRAI data showed industry broadband subscribers growing about 0.6% per month through July-September and Airtel's broadband base rising from 376.11 Mn in May to 388.86 Mn in September.
Cost lines are the offset: the Indian crude basket averaged $82.04/bbl in July and $100.75 in September, and DRAM contract prices were expected to rise a further 13-18% in Q3 2026 after a 93-98% increase in Q1, with Airtel itself telling analysts that memory and chip prices had hurt FWA unit economics and prompted an FWA pullback.
Africa remains a growth engine, with constant-currency revenue growth of 21.1% in Q1 tracking ahead of the '20% plus CAGR' guidance, and the naira appreciating through the quarter rather than devaluing.
On the corporate side, Airtel Money filed for its London listing on September 23, 2026 as a pure offer-for-sale targeting H2 2026, while consolidated finance costs have climbed from Rs. 4,866 Cr in Q2 FY26 to Rs. 5,956 Cr in Q1 FY27, keeping the finance-cost trajectory in focus against net debt ex-leases of Rs. 81,852.1 Cr at 0.69x net debt/EBITDA.
ARPU trajectory and the Rs. 299 to Rs. 349 migration: The mid-quarter entry-plan withdrawal is the single biggest swing factor for India mobile revenue this quarter.
Homes net adds and FWA economics: The Homes engine moderated in Q1 and cost inflation is reshaping the FWA-versus-fiber mix.
Data center 1 GW build-out and Nxtra M&A: Nxtra's step-up from a 120-130 MW base toward the 1 gigawatt ambition is the largest new capital program.
Airtel Money London listing progress: The listing is inside its guided H2 2026 window and now concrete.
Capex, finance costs and AGR parity: The capital and cost lines test management's open-ended guidance.
Management said there is 'substantial headroom within the current customer base itself', citing data consumption upgrades, unlimited plan migration and postpaid acceleration via Fast Lane. Longer term, Gopal Vittal said the industry's pricing architecture still needs repair, with a sensible price ladder potentially delivering sustained ARPU growth of 4% or 5%, maybe slightly higher, over the next five to seven years.
Management has not guided a date, saying the pricing architecture correction cannot be done 'single handedly'. The source notes brokerages expect a broader revision later — December 2026 per IIFL, H2 FY27 per Business Standard, and March/April 2027 per BofA.
No — CFO Soumen Ray said 'as a rule, we do not give guidance' on capex, framing the direction as 'a holding/decline in capex' without a time limit. He added the company will not shy away from putting investment where growth is required.
Q1 FY27 consolidated revenue was Rs. 58,539.1 Cr, up 18.4% YoY. Segment growth was led by Homes at +33.2% and Africa at +21.1% in constant currency, with India mobile at +9.2% and Airtel Business at +12.0% YoY.
