Engineers India Ltd (EIL) is a Navratna engineering consultancy and EPC company under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, serving oil & gas, petrochemical, fertilizer and infrastructure clients. The Q2 print will speak to whether revenue can get back on the at-least-10% FY27 growth path after a 6.07% YoY decline in Q1, and how the order book and margins track against the ₹8,000 Cr inflow and 16% operating margin targets.

The board meets on October 30, 2026 to consider the Q2/H1 FY27 financial results and the 1st interim dividend for FY27. The trading window remained shut from October 1 to November 1, reopening on November 2, 2026.
The Q2 FY27 earnings call is scheduled for October 30, 2026 at 16:30 hrs IST, organised with DAM Capital. Speakers are Sanjay Jindal, Director (Finance), and the Company Secretary.
If approved, the 1st interim dividend for FY27 carries a record date of November 5, 2026. The amount has not been disclosed; management commentary at the Q1 call put the dividend "in the range of 100%" for the current financial year.
The quarter is a test of whether EIL's revenue trajectory can bend back toward the guided at-least-10% FY27 growth after Q1 FY27 total income fell 6.07% YoY, with the Q2 FY26 base of Rs. 948.24 Cr flattered by a Rs. 35 Cr provision write-back that management has guided will not recur in FY27. Brent crude rose sharply through the quarter — from $79.16 on 13-Jul to around $104–106 by 10-Sep — which supports oil-company capex intent, while the rupee in the mid-Rs. 95s, roughly 8% weaker YoY, is a tailwind to INR realisation on USD-denominated overseas work such as the Dangote contracts. The Dangote Kenya award of over US$450 million (22-Sep-2026) for a 700,000 BPD greenfield refinery should appear in the 30-Sep-2026 order book and begin cost-progress revenue phasing, against the Rs. 15,109 Cr record order book as of March 2026. On margins, the levers are mix — consultancy guided at 24–25% versus LSTK at 7.5%, with Q1 FY27 running at 23.98% and 7.51% respectively — and the RFCL JV line, where the ~Rs. 42 Cr quarterly profit share is considered sustainable by management. The unresolved imported-ethane tariff issue and the live Middle East conflict, which management has described as keeping new tenders from coming fast, remain the overhangs on award conversion; the call will likely cover order-book movement, the margin bridge and the interim dividend.
Performance vs FY27 guidance tracking: Management's FY27 guidance stack and where each leg stood at the Q1 call:
Dangote Kenya and Nigeria mobilization
Interim dividend and RFCL payout
Middle East pipeline and domestic awards
Exceptionals stance and governance follow-through
Management has confirmed reserves exist but investment plans are under consideration and there are no plans to distribute the entire reserves to shareholders. Cash is deployed per DPE guidelines.
EIL holds a 26% stake in RFCL with Rs. 491 crore invested, and the Q1 FY27 consolidated PAT included a Rs. 42.51 Cr share of JV profit. Management considers roughly Rs. 42 crores of quarterly profit share sustainable, with dividends expected in the current financial year.
Management has confirmed revenue recognition on a cost-progress (percentage-of-completion style) basis over the 3–4 year execution span. The Dangote Kenya contract is in excess of US$450 million for a 700,000 BPD greenfield refinery-cum-petrochemical plant.
The Middle East accounts for 10–15% of the order book and about 30% of secured business. Management has described the market situation as "grim" with new tenders and projects not coming fast, though existing projects remain on track.
