GAIL (India) Limited is India's integrated natural gas company, spanning gas transmission, marketing, petrochemicals, LPG and city gas distribution. After a sharp Q1 FY27 rebound, the Q2 print will test management's own guidance that gas marketing margins and LPG profitability will shrink, even as Brent surged past $100 and spot LNG prices climbed through the quarter.

GAIL (India) Limited is scheduled to announce its Q2 FY 2026-2027 results on October 30, 2026. The results follow the Q1 FY27 board meeting held on July 31, 2026.
At the 42nd AGM held on August 27, 2026, shareholders approved a final dividend of 5% (Rs. 0.50 per share) with a record date of September 2, 2026. This follows an interim dividend of 50% (Rs. 5.00 per share), amounting to Rs. 3,287.55 crore, paid in February 2026.
The Q2 FY27 print is chiefly a test of management's July 31, 2026 guidance that gas marketing margins would 'shrink' as the 9-month/3-month JCC arbitrage normalizes and that LPG profitability 'will decrease during the current quarter'. The quarter's price complex, however, moved against that premise: JKM spot LNG rose roughly $10/MMBtu to $26.41 by the week ended September 23 while Henry Hub stayed soft at $2.78-$2.95 monthly averages, and Brent climbed from $90.12 on July 31 to $103.73 on September 30, which supports LPG realizations (Q1: Rs. 90,796) and polymer prices rather than cooling them. On volumes, a record deficit-monsoon power quarter (July demand +10.9% YoY to ~171 BU; September +11.3% YoY to 162 BU with a 269 GW record peak) supports the ~123 MMSCMD FY27 transmission guide, though QatarEnergy extended LNG force majeure through November/early December and GAIL's PLL RLNG allocation has remained zero since March 4, 2026. The rupee's move to ~Rs. 94.7-94.9, past the '92' level management flagged as unhedged, points to a possible further ERV drag on ship-leasing liabilities after the Rs. 600 crore FY26 charge. Q1 gas marketing PBT of Rs. 3,353 crore already equalled 74.51% of the Rs. 4,500 crore FY27 target, and the call is expected to cover whether that target is reaffirmed, the timing of the Rs. 675 crore Nagarjuna Fertilizers provision reversal guided for the 'current or next quarter', and capex pacing after Q1's Rs. 6,176 crore spend reached 53.70% of the Rs. 11,500 crore FY27 plan.
Performance vs guidance tracking: Key FY27 guidance items and their status heading into the Q2 call:
Q2 FY27 profit normalization
Transmission volume trajectory and PLL force majeure
Capex pacing and CWIP capitalization
Konkan LNG merger and regulatory follow-ups
The Director (Finance) confirmed the Rs. 4,000-4,500 crore guidance is at the PBT level. The EBITDA-level figure for the gas marketing segment was around Rs. 2,866 crore (H1 FY26 gross margin).
Management said the Rs. 675 crore provision is expected to be reversed in the current or next quarter when it was taken in FY26. Q1 FY27 passed without the reversal, making Q2 FY27 the stated window.
Q1 FY27 delivered gas marketing PBT of Rs. 3,353 crore, which is 74.51% of the Rs. 4,500 crore FY27 target. Management has flagged that Q2 marketing margins are anticipated to shrink as the JCC arbitrage normalizes.
