GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (GSK India) is a diversified healthcare company spanning pediatric and adult vaccines, general medicines and a growing specialty portfolio, reporting into an Indian pharma market that accelerated from 12.1% growth in July 2026 to 17.1% in September 2026. The print will speak to two things above all: whether EBITDA margin tracks management's ~34% FY27 anchor after Q1's 31.7%, and whether the promised normalization of front-loaded opex shows up in the numbers.

As per the board intimation filed on 13-Oct-26, the board meeting is scheduled on 3-Nov-26 to approve the Q2/H1 FY27 results for the period ended 30-Sep-2026.
An analyst/investor meet is scheduled for 4-Nov-26 in digital mode, covering public-domain information only. The Q1 FY27 earnings call was held on 3-Aug-26, with its transcript filed on 6-Aug-26.
The quarter's central test is whether EBITDA margin moves back toward management's ~34% FY27 anchor after Q1 FY27 printed 31.7%, with the opex line the pivot — other expenses jumped to 16.85% of revenue in Q1 on a deliberate 36% YoY front-loading of spend, and management guided normalization 'in subsequent quarters'. The demand backdrop is favourable: the Indian pharma market accelerated through the quarter from +12.1% YoY in July to +17.1% in September (IQVIA), though growth remains price and new-product-led with unit growth of just 1.6% in July and 1.1% in August, and anti-infectives (+9%) and respiratory (+3%) were September's laggards — the lanes where GSK's acute GenMed engines sit. On the cost side, the rupee held a 95-96.5 band through the quarter and is roughly 8.4% weaker year-on-year on the USD/INR pair, so the imported-purchase-cost hardening flagged in Q1 persists, and Crisil's 24-Sep-2026 sector view projects 150-200 bps of FY27 margin contraction on raw-material, energy and freight costs. Below the operating line, about Rs. 42.09 cr of tax-refund interest (from the Rs. 52 Cr AY 1984-85 refund received 6-Aug-2026) lands in Q2 other income and should be stripped when reading operating performance, just as Q1's 24% PAT growth included a one-off Biddle Sawyer dividend (ex-one-off PAT growth was about 17%). Growth quality will also be judged against the roadmap: Q1's 15% headline included a 4-5% base effect from prior-year CMO disruptions, with sustainable growth framed at 9-10% against the Rs. 8,000 Cr revenue target in 4-5 years, while the innovation portfolio at 7% of sales still trails the 10-15% freshness-index band targeted for FY27.

Management broke Q1 FY27 growth into volumes of 3-3.5%, about 6% price, and the balance from new introductions. The 15% headline also included a 4-5% favorable base effect from prior-year CMO disruptions, with sustainable growth framed at 9-10%.
Management described it as deliberate front-loading of investments, including HCP events and speaker programs in oncology, adult vaccination and pediatric vaccines. The spend-to-sales ratio rose about 1 percentage point, and management expects ratios to normalize in subsequent quarters.
The standing FY27 anchor is an EBITDA margin of around 34%, versus 31.7% printed in Q1 FY27. Management has said it prefers to hold and sustain current margins and reinvest rather than actively seek expansion, with levers including 12-18 month input-locking agreements and AI-led cost optimization.
The launch was guided within 2-3 months of the 3-Aug-2026 call, with the India launch expected in Q4 2026 (calendar). Blenrep is the first antibody-drug conjugate approved for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma, in an India market sized at 40,000-45,000 patients with 17,000-18,000 new cases annually.
Shingrix crossed Rs. 100 Cr on a MAT basis, growing 65% in Q1 FY27 with 45,000-50,000 doses per quarter. Management has not given forward-looking guidance on Shingrix growth, with focus on defending its private self-paid pediatric vaccines leadership.
