Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GODREJCP) is an FMCG company spanning personal care, home care and household insecticides across India, Indonesia, Africa and Latin America, and it enters this quarter with a new MD & CEO at the helm. The print will speak to two things above all: how far intensified input-cost inflation (crude-linked LPG, kerosene, LABSA and palm oil) squeezes margins, and how much of a drag the deliberate Rs. 125-150 Cr trade inventory correction takes out of standalone growth.

The board is scheduled to meet on Thursday, Oct 29, 2026 to approve unaudited Q2/HY FY27 results (period ended Sep 30, 2026) and consider an interim dividend; record date Nov 4, 2026 if declared.
A virtual analyst/investor call is scheduled on Oct 29, 2026, 5:00-6:00 pm IST to discuss the Q2 FY27 results.
The quarter's dominant swing factor is margin: Brent averaged $83.41/bbl in July, $90.84 in August and $116.77 in September, with delivered LPG premiums to India doubling to a near-record $450/t — hitting the LPG/kerosene/LABSA basket that drove a ~6% India cost hit and 9-10% overall cost inflation vs plan in Q1. Management's Oct 5 business update guided consolidated high-teens revenue growth, high-single-digit UVG and double-digit EBITDA growth, with standalone revenue growth in teens including a ~100-150 bps drag from the deliberate India GT trade inventory correction (Rs. 125-150 Cr over three quarters, GT inventory days moving from 20 to 10). On the top line, the rupee's weakness (RBI reference rate Rs. 94.6986/USD on Oct 22, down nearly 6% in 2026) plus naira appreciation should keep the reported-vs-constant-currency gap wide in GAUM's favour, as it did in Q1 when Africa, USA & ME grew 47% reported to Rs. 1,006.13 Cr; Indonesia's retail rebound to +1.1% YoY in July is consistent with the guided high-teens Indonesia revenue growth, though the UVG print is the test of growth quality. The demand drag sits in India, where the 2026 southwest monsoon at 87% of LPA — with August at just 84% — matches management's flagged poor H1 for household insecticides and consumption impact from uneven monsoon/El Niño. The FY27 guidance set (high-single-digit standalone UVG, double-digit consolidated revenue and EBITDA growth, India margin back within the 24-26% normative band by H2 FY27) was reaffirmed on Aug 11 and Sep 2, but the September crude step-up means the H2 margin-recovery path now depends on continued pricing or a crude de-escalation that had not materialised as of Oct 22 (Brent $111.64). This will be the first results under MD & CEO Aasif Malbari and interim CFO Vishal Kedia, with the call likely covering the margin bridge, guidance reaffirmation and the interim dividend the board takes up on Oct 29.
Performance vs FY27 guidance tracking: FY27 guidance was reaffirmed on Aug 11 and Sep 2, 2026; here is where each leg stands entering Q2.
Input-cost inflation and margin bridge
First results under new leadership
New-category ramp and capex cycle close
El Niño, LV acceleration and Indonesia growth quality
LPG, kerosene and LABSA costs trebled in Q1 FY27, driving a ~6% cost hit to the India business and a 9-10% overall cost increase vs plan, and the Oct 5 update flags intensified input-cost inflation from crude-linked derivatives and palm oils. Management has taken a ~5% blended price hike with a similar increase possible in Q2, and expects India margins back within the 24-26% normative band by H2 FY27.
GCPL is deliberately correcting India general-trade inventory by Rs. 125-150 Cr over three quarters from Q1 FY27, cutting GT inventory days from 20 to 10 to improve dealer ROI. Management has accepted short-term bottom-line pressure, with a ~100-150 bps standalone growth impact flagged for Q2 FY27.
Consolidated UVG strengthened sequentially to 9% in Q1 FY27 from 3% in Q2 FY26, with GAUM UVG at 17% and Indonesia at 10%. Management has said it believes it is 'a few quarters away from consistently delivering double-digit underlying volume growth'.
Africa EBITDA margin improved from ~9% in FY24 to ~15% in FY26, and the Africa, USA & ME segment grew 47% YoY in Q1 FY27 with EBITDA up 42%. Management expects the bottom line to grow faster than the top line in Africa for the next few years, with high single-digit constant-currency revenue growth over the medium term.
Aasif Malbari was appointed MD & CEO for five years (Aug 12, 2026-Aug 11, 2031) after Sudhir Sitapati's resignation, and shareholders approved the appointment with 99.3219% votes on Oct 7, 2026. Vishal Kedia has been interim CFO since Aug 12, 2026.
