Dr. Lal PathLabs is one of India's leading diagnostic services brands, operating an integrated nationwide network of clinical labs, Patient Service Centers and Pick-up Points. This quarter's print will speak to whether the 19.1% revenue growth and 31.0% EBITDA margin of Q1 FY27 can be sustained on a soft fever-season base, and whether management formally upgrades its FY27 guidance now that the deferred post-H1 decision point has arrived.

The Board is scheduled to meet on November 4, 2026 to approve un-audited standalone & consolidated results for Q2/H1 ended September 30, 2026 and consider a 2nd Interim Dividend for FY 2026-27.
The Q2/H1 FY27 earnings call is scheduled for November 4, 2026 at 6:00 PM IST. Speakers are Executive Chairman (Hony. Brig.) Dr. Arvind Lal, CEO Shankha Banerjee and Group CFO Ved Prakash Goel.
The central question for this quarter is whether volume and realization momentum holds against a Q2 FY26 base that was itself dampened by weak fever-season incidence, when revenue grew 10.7%. The 2026 dengue season is tracking near average — 70,140 cases year-to-date, roughly 1.0x the expected level — which supports volumes on the soft base without an outbreak-style surge, while the CGHS/ECHS rate revision effective October 13, 2025 continues to add a management-stated 2%–3% company-level benefit expected to persist for 2–3 quarters from Q1.
On the cost side, WPI accelerated from 9.78% in July to 11.39% in September and the rupee lost 1.2% over July–September, a headwind on imported reagents and consumables that stood at Rs. 152 Cr, about 19% of revenue, in Q1 FY27. Management had explicitly deferred the formal FY27 guidance revision — revenue tilted 'more towards mid-teens rather than early teens' and the reinvest-vs-upgrade decision on the 27%–28% EBITDA margin band — to after the first half, making this call the stated decision point.
M&A consolidation is largely H2-weighted, with SN Genelab completion due by November 30, 2026 and Ghana's first-tranche closing date not confirmed in retrieved filings, so Q2 consolidated revenue should be essentially organic.
Performance vs previously stated guidance: Management deferred the formal FY27 guidance revision to after H1 — this call is the decision point.

At the Q1 FY27 call, management said results came in ahead of expectations and that 'chances are we might be more towards mid-teens rather than early teens'. A formal revision was promised after the first half of the year, making the Q2 call the decision point.
CEO Shankha Banerjee has said 'the idea always is to reinvest for future growth', with management viewing the 27%–28% EBITDA margin band as 'very near' its desired state. Management indicated the decision would be clearer after Q2.
Patient volume growth accelerated from 5.5%–6% to about 8%, but management wants a few more quarters, post Q2/Q3, for test-level and client-level clarity. Prior-year volumes were dampened by the absence of a fever season.
FY26 revenue grew 12.2% against guidance of 11%–12%, delivered at or above the top of the range, and FY26 EBITDA margin of 27.2% reported (28.3% normalized) was within the 27%–28% band. For FY27, guidance stands at early-to-mid-teens revenue growth, 27%–28% EBITDA margin and Rs. 100–120 Cr capex, with the formal revision deferred to after H1.
