The board of Max Financial Services will meet on October 27, 2026 to consider and approve the Q2/H1 FY27 financial results, per the board meeting intimation dated September 25, 2026. The trading window was shut from October 1 to October 29, 2026.
The earnings call for Q2/H1 FY27 is scheduled for October 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM IST in virtual mode, per the October 19, 2026 investor relations announcement.
The quarter's swing factor is the New Business Margin bridge: management claimed 70-80% run-rate recovery of the ~300-350 bps GST input-tax-credit disallowance drag, and whether that held decides if NBM stays near Q1 FY27's 23.2% versus Q2 FY26's 25.5%. The demand backdrop turned harder late in the quarter, with the Nifty falling 5.67% in September 2026 to 22,716.20 and the 10-year G-sec hardening to 7.05% by September 21 from 6.84% at end-July, reversing the favorable yield curve management had credited for margin expansion. Company-specific momentum entering the quarter was strong, with Q1 FY27 APE of Rs. 1,922 Cr (+15%), VNB of Rs. 446 Cr (+33%), Axis channel growth of +14% versus ~7% in H1/9M FY26, and private market share up 13 bps to 10.1%. Management has restated its open-ended commitment that VNB grows faster than APE, and the call will likely be probed on whether this is reframed into a quantified FY27 margin target, alongside the amalgamation scheme-filing status against the guided 6-12 month post-filing NCLT timeline.

Management estimated the gross margin impact at ~350 bps with a 300-350 bps run-rate drag, and stated that one-third was mitigated in Q3 FY26 with 70-80% of the impact recovered in the run rate via distributor renegotiations, cost actions and product mix. The CFO declined to quantify how much product-mix change specifically offsets the GST impact.
Management guided that the NCLT process is expected to take 6-12 months after the scheme document is filed, or 12-14 months from scheme filing once the regulatory process is complete. The CFO described the collapse structure as 'fairly simplistic' with a look-through-based share entitlement ratio.
Axis Bank infused Rs. 380.60 Cr on June 1, 2026, lifting its AMLI holding to 19.99% (MFSL 80.01%) and raising solvency to 198%. Axis Bank is evaluating a further stake increase, with disclosures to be made in due course.
Management said the Rs. 1,600 crore QIP approval is enabling and largely supports Axis Max Life's growth capital needs through FY28. Outcomes of the new accounting standard adoption and the risk-based solvency framework are awaited, which are expected to make the insurer more capital efficient.
In Q1 FY27, New Business Margin expanded to 23.2% from 20.1% a year ago, driving VNB of Rs. 446 Cr, up 33%, which outpaced APE growth of +15%. Private market share rose 13 bps to 10.1%.
