SPR Auto Technologies (formerly Shriram Pistons & Rings) makes pistons, rings, engine valves and — after the Antolin India acquisition — automotive interiors and lighting, with powertrain-agnostic businesses now over 35% of consolidated income. This quarter's print will speak to whether the guided commodity normalisation and Rs. 30 crores wages recovery lift consolidated EBITDA margin from Q1FY27's 18.9%, and how the Rs. 1,000 crore QIP received in August 2026 reshapes the balance sheet.

The Board is scheduled to meet on October 30, 2026 to approve the unaudited standalone and consolidated results for Q2 and H1 FY27 (period ended September 30, 2026). The trading window remained closed from October 1, 2026 until 48 hours after the results.
The Q2/H1 FY27 earnings call is scheduled for November 2, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. IST. Speakers are MD & CEO Krishnakumar Srinivasan and ED & CFO Prem Rathi.
The quarter's central test is margin normalisation: management guided commodity normalisation within Q2FY27 and recovery of the Rs. 30 crores wage impact within the quarter, after Q1FY27 absorbed a Rs. 300 Million commodity/supply-chain EBITDA hit and consolidated EBITDA margin came in at 18.9%. Aluminium has moved in the company's favour — from a four-year high of $3,787.50/ton in early June 2026, MCX prices slid from about Rs. 347.95/kg in August–September to roughly Rs. 323–327/kg by late October as the war premium unwound — and with 100% pass-through to OEMs at a one-quarter lag, Q2 should capture price adjustments compensating the Q1 hit. The domestic volume base was exceptionally strong: SIAM Q2 FY27 PV domestic sales grew 30.7% YoY with UVs at 68% of PV sales, against the 20% industry sales growth benchmark SPR cited for Q1FY27, while standalone production volumes grew 22% versus 12–12.5% standalone revenue on a post-GST 2.0 mix shift to smaller vehicles. The export leg remains the drag — management said in Q1 that exports in Europe, the US, Middle East, Egypt and Turkey had not yet recovered, and September 2026 trade data showed India's exports to the UAE and Saudi Arabia down 12–15% YoY — so the guided full-year FY27 export benefit is still unproven. On the balance sheet, the Rs. 1,000 crore QIP received in August 2026 (23,36,448 shares at Rs. 4,280/share) against net debt of Rs. 550 crore at June 30, 2026 should sharply lower the September-quarter net-debt position, with finance costs of Rs. 342 Mn in Q1FY27 the line to watch as debt is repaid. The call on November 2, 2026 is also likely to cover Antolin's margin path from the early teens toward mid-teens, EMFi's ramp toward its >INR 100 crores target, and Takahata phase-4 progress.
Performance vs guidance tracking: Management's standing guidance items and where each stands heading into the Q2FY27 call:
Margin normalisation and finance costs
Growth engines: Antolin, EMFi and capacity
Exports and volume-revenue mix
Balance sheet post-QIP
Standalone production volumes grew 22% while standalone revenue grew 12-12.5%, which management explained as a post-GST 2.0 mix shift toward smaller vehicles. Management said margins were maintained despite the mix change.
At the time of the Q4FY26 call, management said the QIP was not for debt repayment but to fuel growth and acquisitions. However, the AGM authorisation of July 27, 2026 states it is for repayment/prepayment of borrowings and general corporate purposes — a shift the company has not yet reconciled.
Management has guided EMFi to over INR 100 crores in 2-3 years from INR 26 crores in FY25, and Q1FY27 sources describe the business as progressing well with strong first-quarter performance. The EV motors and controllers business is now EBITDA positive.
Powertrain-agnostic businesses contribute over 35% of consolidated income, and nearly 60% of the business is positioned as insulated from EV penetration, covering interiors, lighting and EV motors and controllers. Management has said all powertrains will coexist for many years.
Consolidated total income grew 51.2% YoY in Q1FY27 while standalone income grew 11.7%, with the gap driven by the Antolin interiors and lighting consolidation completed January 8, 2026. Management has framed the elevated finance costs from the acquisition debt — Rs. 252 Mn consolidated in Q1FY27 — as temporary until the debt is repaid.
