Sun TV Network, one of India's largest regional television broadcasters with channels across seven languages, FM radio, the Sun NXT OTT platform and cricket franchises, heads into its September quarter print with advertising under pressure and cricket doing the heavy lifting. The key things this results will speak to are the trajectory of advertisement revenue against a soft TV ad market and the first full-quarter contribution from The Hundred via SunRisers Leeds.

The board will meet on Friday, October 30, 2026, to approve unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026, and to consider an interim dividend for FY 2026-27. The intimation was filed under Regulation 29 of SEBI LODR and signed by Company Secretary R. Ravi.
The September quarter tests whether Sun TV's cricket-led growth can offset a softening television advertising market, with the TAM AdEx TV ad activity index at 91.4 for Jul 1–Sep 28, 2026, down 8.6% YoY while digital rose 24.5%. The Hundred 2026 ran entirely inside the quarter (Jul 21–Aug 16), giving SunRisers Leeds a full-season pro-rata revenue contribution after the ECB reported 550k tickets (third-highest campaign) and average broadcast audiences up 7.5% — though team salary caps were raised to £2.05 million, a cost-side step-up against Q1's net franchise contribution of Rs. 305.52 Cr. Subscription revenue, up 3.26% YoY in Q1 FY27, faces no adverse TRAI tariff action in the window, and the repeal of the 12-minutes-per-hour ad cap (TRAI repeal on Sep 10, 2026) adds unquantified optionality on ad inventory. GBP/INR moving from ~125.43 on Jun 30, 2026 to ~127.24 on Sep 30, 2026 is directionally supportive of the unhedged, GBP-denominated SunRisers Leeds investment, with the treasury book (Rs. 6,260.07 Cr current investments plus Rs. 1,283.21 Cr non-current investments at March 31, 2026) keeping Other Income a material earnings layer. The call is also expected to cover the margin-definition question — Q1's 51.50% EBITDA margin on revenue from operations versus the annual PBITDA convention of 58% of Total Income — and the related-party subscription billing that reached Rs. 1,111.05 Cr in FY26.
Advertisement revenue trajectory: Advertising is the high-operating-leverage line and has been shrinking.
The Hundred contribution and franchise economics: The Hundred 2026 season fell entirely inside the July–September quarter.
SunRisers Leeds integration and margin definition: First periods of full consolidation and a definitional mismatch to reconcile.
Related-party subscription billing: A sharp jump in related-party distributor billing warrants follow-up.
Dividend, leadership and demerger clarification: Corporate actions and governance items on the agenda.
Standalone revenue rose 13.26% YoY to Rs. 1,423.39 Cr, driven by cricket franchises which grew 33.15% YoY to Rs. 629.83 Cr. Advertisement revenue declined 2.56% YoY over the same period.
Responding to a Sep 30, 2026 CNBC TV18 report captioned 'Possible Demerger of SUN TV's sports division', the company termed the item a rumour it cannot comment on. It stated all Regulation 30 disclosures stand made and there is no impending material price-sensitive information.
Sun TV acquired 100% of Northern Superchargers Limited from the England and Wales Cricket Board for GBP 100.5 million (INR 1,184.99 crores), renamed SunRisers Leeds Limited, with the controlling stake effective July 28, 2025. It competes in The Hundred in the UK and is accounted for as an asset acquisition of primarily franchise rights.
Sun TV paid four interim dividends totalling Rs. 12.50 per share (250%) in FY26, with an outgo of Rs. 492.61 Cr. In Q1 FY27 it declared a first interim dividend of Rs. 5.00 per share on August 12, 2026.
