Tata Motors Limited (TMCV), India's largest commercial vehicle maker, reports Q2 FY 2026-2027 into a quarter of exceptional demand, with announced CV sales of 1,35,114 units up 42.7% YoY. The print will speak to two things: how far severe commodity inflation and a weak rupee compress margins despite strong volumes, and where the Euro 14.40-per-share Iveco tender offer stands.

The Board of Tata Motors Limited is scheduled to meet on October 23, 2026, to approve the audited standalone and unaudited consolidated (limited review) Q2/H1 FY27 results. Results and the investor presentation will be uploaded the same day.
The Q2 FY27 analyst call is scheduled for October 23, 2026, 6:30-7:30 PM IST, hosted by MD & CEO Girish Wagh and CFO GV Ramanan. Results and the investor presentation will be uploaded on the company website the same day.
The volume story is already on the table: announced Q2 FY27 CV sales of 1,35,114 units (+42.7% YoY) and H1 volumes of 2,43,602 units (+35.1%) run well above the 'healthy double-digit year-on-year growth' guided at the Q1 call, with EV volumes up 2.4X YoY. The quarter's swing factor is margin: steel HRC moved from about Rs. 58,000/t in early August to roughly Rs. 64,000/t by late September, natural rubber stayed elevated near Rs. 275/kg, and the rupee sat near its 2026 lows around 95-96/USD — the same commodity-and-rupee combination management itself called 'quite severe'. Pricing covers only part of the quarter — a 2.5% hike in July 2026 and an up-to-1% increase effective October 1 — and Q1 FY27 standalone EBITDA margin was already 11.26%, down 141 bps YoY, so the mid-teens ambition, already moved to a 'quarter by quarter' approach, faces visible pressure against the 12.2% Q2 FY26 base and the 13.9% Q4 FY26 exit rate. The call should also confirm whether the China EV cell supply bottleneck was debottlenecked by end-Q2 as guided, and update on the Iveco tender offer, where acceptance closes October 26, 2026 and payment is due October 30, 2026.

Management has moved to a 'quarter by quarter' approach on the mid-teens guide, with MD & CEO Girish Wagh saying the commodity inflation, including rupee devaluation, 'is quite severe, and we are trying to fight it'. No explicit period has been re-affirmed for the mid-teens target.
Q2 FY27 total CV sales (domestic + international) were 1,35,114 units, up 42.7% YoY, with September 2026 at 51,062 units, up 42.4% YoY. H1 FY27 volumes were 2,43,602 units, up 35.1% YoY, with EV volumes up 2.4X YoY.
The all-cash tender offer was raised to Euro 14.40 per share (best and final) on October 9, 2026, lifting the maximum aggregate disbursement to Euro 3,905,501,760. Acceptance closes October 26, 2026, with payment on October 30, 2026, and regulatory clearances from the UK FCA, Bank of Spain, ECB and CONSOB are already in place.
Overall CV market share was 36.8% in Q1 FY27 (VAHAN-based, restated methodology) against the 40% target for 2028. HCV at 55.0% in FY26 is marked on track/delivered, while ILMCV, SCV-PU and CV Passenger remain work in progress.
