UNO Minda is an automotive components maker supplying switches, lighting, alloy wheels, seating and EV systems to OEMs, with 78 plants across six countries. This quarter's print will speak to whether EBITDA margin recovers toward the guided ~11% band as commodity and gas inflation meets management's promised pass-through catch-up, and whether the FY27 wave of new plant SOPs — from Bawal 2W alloy wheels to the Khed EV powertrain — stays on schedule.

As per the board intimation, the board meets on November 5, 2026 to consider Q2/H1 FY27 results, with the trading window shut till 48 hours after the release.
The quarter is a test of whether UNO Minda's FY27 EBITDA margin guidance of ~11% plus/minus 50 basis points holds, after Q1 FY27 came in at 10.3% on commodity and gas price inflation, pass-through dilution and minimum-wage-driven employee costs. Aluminium stayed elevated through July–August in the $3,100–3,300/t band on LME with MCX at ~₹345–350/kg, and Asian spot LNG ran at $25–26/mmBtu, so the swing factor is the pass-through catch-up management said would bridge "from Q2 onwards", including a push to shorten price adjustment cycles to monthly.
The demand backdrop is strong — FADA retail rose +25.89% YoY in July, +17.51% in August and +31.82% in September, with e-2W penetration above 10% and the PM E-DRIVE e-2W subsidy extended to March 2028 — supporting the company's 1.4x–1.5x industry-growth algorithm. JV profitability is another checkpoint, with management expecting the commodity-driven gap to bridge from Q2 onwards against Q1 FY27's share of JV/associates of ₹47.55 Cr and the ₹63 Cr Q2 FY26 comparator.
FY27 is described by management as "a defining year for execution", with 7 of 11 ongoing projects commencing production or ramping up and commercial operations beginning in EV powertrain and sunroof, against a ₹3,800 Cr project pipeline of which ₹1,400 Cr is spent and FY27 capex planned at ₹1,750 Cr.
EBITDA margin vs the ~11% ±50 bps FY27 guidance: Q1 FY27 came in at 10.3% against the annual guided band.
JV profitability recovery: Management expected the commodity-driven JV profit gap to bridge "from Q2 onwards".
FY27 SOP milestones and Kharkhoda ramp: Several projects fall due in or around the quarter being reported.
Inovance JV approvals and rare-earth supply: The EV powertrain JV remains pending Chinese regulatory approvals.
Capex run-rate, exports and tax matters: Funding and execution updates on the expansion pipeline.
Management confirmed there was nil PLI accrual in the quarter and over the first nine months of FY26, responding directly to a quantification request from analysts.
Management said it generally does not share order book figures because uncertain customer volume estimations "can create misleading impressions", citing the EV order book disclosure it started three years prior.
Exports from India rose to ₹228 Cr in Q1 FY27 from ₹141 Cr in Q1 FY26, an increase of approximately 50–60%, with ₹400 Cr of new export business secured. Management has guided to double or triple absolute export numbers.
Management has guided FY27 consolidated EBITDA margin of ~11% plus/minus 50 basis points, but Q1 FY27 came in at 10.3%, below the guided floor. Management expects margins to stay in the range for "another year or 2" until a large part of the ongoing projects is commissioned.
